And I remember Cold Steel is published this year, completing the Fire Heart duology. You won't find them on S'pore's shelves because censorship.

In the sunlight, it is filled with joy, seen through the eyes of young children, where everything is magical. A huge chiku tree arches over the main gate itself woven with rambly Fukien tea plants. Orchids line the driveway and often while the adults talk, the children make curry powder from the earthen shards used to fill the area holding the orchid pots. Sometimes, they pull the weeds growing lush in the grass and pretend they have found ginseng. Sometimes, they browse through the rambly Fukien tea and pick the ripe red fruits and pretend they are tomatoes.

She danced for the Jade Emperor. The dance was held in the temple where the community met during big festivals. The dances were stories so that families could remember how they were saved from bandit raids a long time ago. They hid in sugar cane plantations, so that was why Ah Ma would buy sugar cane from the market with their leaves still green and glossy with morning dew. The Jade Emperor protected them. Ah Ma would burn the sugar cane later. The smoke would rise up to the sky, to the Jade Emperor.
