I had 9 shops with staff profit sharing, low staff turnover and low sickness. Nevertheless margins were poor after all the rent, rates and utilities. I can’t imagine how hard it is now with costs up 70% on utilities.

I lot of people have been pushing this approach but the right wing aren’t listening. They want chaos and failure so they can point the finger and say “We told you so. Vote for us for stability and control.”

That’ll be me. The increase will raise prices or reduce staff or cause closures. All of which will impact the very same people. If Govt tackled the cost of living with real savings on utilities, food fuel etc. it would help everyone by getting more for their buck which is effectively the same thing
