Since this photo seemed to strike a chord with many, I confirmed with my mother tonight that she took the photo in 1960 when she was 24 years old and my grandfather was 47. At that time she thinks he was working at the Webb mine in Shadyside Ohio.

My grandfather in the 60s after a day working in the West Virginia coal mines. At 12 during the depression he dropped out of school and lied about his age to start coal mining. No one should be doing this today.

Glad to hear this. If the best dems can do in DC is gum up the system and delay, then they need to do it. Vote against all their nominees. Protest. Speak up. Demonstrate. Hold press conferences pointing out the harm that is being done. Do it all the time, every day.
