How about writing a definitive essay or bullet points on the subject?

Machiavelli did say "telegraph every righteous thing you are going to do so you will lose the opportunity of possessing any power to do it." A smart strategy is Dems win power and most of them are as surprised as anyone when a Dem president seriously entertains a ICC indictment.

Let's hope Congress holds hearings eventually to rake over the coals each of these college presidents who did deals with the Trump Admin.

If Biden can be blamed for the 2021 Kabul Airport Attack, then Trump can be blamed for this DC attack.

Any idea if someone in an admin can be pardoned for a war crime?

OK, good point, trying to flesh out your thinking. The issue for me is that on a continuum of harassment to detainment, harassment and targeting is an abuse of power in that it incurs real costs on targets and harassment itself is a kind of weaponization. See your point on names vs. anonymous data.

Please elaborate. If this was another nation, Amnesty and other HR orgs would be doing a similar tally and publicizing it to expose abuse, right? Why not now in the US?

Mr. President, do you think the national guardsmen are actually armed with bullets? There is a school of thought that its leadership would not do this, given the lack of policing skills of guardsmen.

Telling anyone any era "are the best years of your life" is cruel. It is just not a way to live.

Law & Order SVU: The head of the nation's special victims unit discovers the Epstein files incriminate him so he orders an investigation into himself to ostensibly publicly exonerate himself to ensure the files are not publicly released . (Odds Trump actually does this?!)

She also leaves now with a very tight time window to go on the House floor and release Epstein names. Seems like kind of a betrayal of the victims.

It can only work to secure independents and centrist Dems if it is also fundamentally pro-capitalist, pro-small business and pro-entrepreneurship, that the current system doesn't serve workers, small business & small companies. Americans will always be aspirationally capitalist, but want fair system

Hegseth has to be told from people 'across the aisle' he will be impeached in early 2027 for this abuse of power in no uncertain terms.
November 24, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Impeach Hegseth in early 2027 for this abuse of power.
November 24, 2025 at 6:37 PM
But the odd thing is Trump's intentional distractions always have a shelf life of, I don't know, two weeks at the most and then what happens? Epstein will be back. So Grenada, I mean Venezuela is invaded, people quickly go back to their streaming shows and Epstein.
November 24, 2025 at 6:35 PM
2029: BREAKING NEWS: The DOD under the newly elected Democratic president recalled Pete Hegseth to active duty in order to court martial him.

Normalcy bias continues unabated

Uh yeah, Seth, in 2005 he was just a creepy friend of Epstein, but now he is president of the United States with access to the nuke codes, war powers and control of the military and justice ministries and a creepy friend of Epstein.

There is a good book here about the failures to punish elites and subsequent (and unintended) consequences.

But that's democracy, not that you don't understand democracy. The default in the Biden case should always be a slate of candidates to choose from. Perhaps it might have been a short-term shit show, but a candidate would have emerged (and the national attention on that candidate would've been high).

Of course, proving Bezos is all in would one of the stories of the year. Can any reporters at the WP get to the bottom of this?
November 22, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Again, I think it made Trump pathetic, he is not a king. He can get up and shake a fellow leader's hand. Trump looked deferential and star-struck almost. Everyone knows Mamdani is paying fake deference to Trump, kind of like the young star listening to the same story again from the old has been.
November 21, 2025 at 9:19 PM
And Trump looks old and haggard.
November 21, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Funny because I was thinking the exact opposite. Trump looks pathetic, intentionally trying to make his guest subservient, slumped in his chair, looking up to Mamdani, while Mamdani stands tall and Trump is being nice to him, even when asked about Mamdani calling him fascist.
