Was a fantastic first day at ’Ireland and the American Revolution’ capped off by a brilliant keynote address by Prof. Eliga Gould. Looking forward to day two.

Another fascinating advertisement for 'Histories for Youth'. None of this Netflix stuff. How about an account of 'The Trojan War' - I'm sure it was a page turner.

Interesting to see so many familiar titles on this advertisement for a book of children's stories published by the Catholic Printer James Hoey in the early 1770s in Dublin.

An attack on John Foster (Jacky Finance), then Chancellor of the Exchequer and future Speaker of the House of Commons, printed in the Volunteer's Journal by Mathew Carey on the 5 April 1784. Carey described the Irish Parliament as a 'den of thieves' and a 'receptacle of iniquity'.
