My book in the wild!

You might find me in a melt of edits by the end of all this, but I'm going back in for what we hope is the final time.

So excited to take this arctic island gothic/folk horror on submission 🖤

Read-through time. Most edits done, just time to tidy, refine, and check the changes I've made 🖤

I still really love this story

Just finished American Primeval and really loved it. There's been so many great Westerns recently, and this is up there.

There's a lot of gore, be warned. And you might fall in love with Isaac a little bit...

It takes a lot for me to read a 433 page book these days but this book is stunning! I'll be reaching for more Sarah Hall, for sure

I watched The Last Waltz tonight. I adore The Band so much. But god, Robbie Robertson had a face you could look at continuously and always see something different. What a show that was!

I saw Nosferatu at an IMAX last night. That made an already intense and claustrophobic movie even more intense and claustrophobic. There were a few times I wanted to leave 😬 I appreciated the aesthetic (especially the scene in the snow!) but not sure it fully landed with me

A triumph. Left me with so many feelings. Utterly bleak but completely human. One I will be thinking about for a long time

I found my dissertation from over 20 years ago at my in-laws house, and it honestly feels like a different person must have written this! It sure was fun to study the deposit from the last ice age, which included a Norway Lemming!

My ghost family doubled overnight! 😱

We ventured back to Bluray land for Xmas. And I got one of my favourite films, complete with poster and stills. My teenage self is in heaven somewhere 🥰🥰🥰

My books of the year, some new, some old, all grabbed me and spoke to me in a new or unusual way. It's been a strange one. I have DNFd many, but actually learnt a lot about what sort of reader I am in the process. My favourite read from all the way back in Jan is The Glutton 🖤

My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna Van Deen. It's gloriously creepy
December 23, 2024 at 8:21 AM
Finished this beauty by Anna Bailey last night. It's a wonderful follow-up to Tall Bones, which I adored. Anna is nailing small-town America, character-led crime, and with stunning prose, too 🐊🖤

Really glad my daughter left this on the sofa

The in-laws 12ft tree is up. This is the tree that nearly killed them last year when it fell on them 😂

I'd totally forgotten about this!

Even Dora is guarding this stunning book. A stark reminder of humanity and our place on Earth. Imagine our world with no borders, simply land, sea, mountains and rivers. It truly reminded me of the reason I studied Earth Science, which I have lost through the living of life
