Labor-management-economics writer-editor. Labor and Employment Relations Association.

Tres political. My car won't even turn right. Blocked by Federalist Society on X.

Atheist. Art. Theater. History. Literature. Architecture. Journalism. Slava Ukraini.
Minor chord, but it irks me that I can't get out my Medicare Advantage plan practically.

When did the Republicans sneak privatization into Medicare? Why do we need insurance companies in the Medicare mix?

Fair point. Apologies. I am so 20th century.

But Adam has been pretty quiet. We need him (and Liz!) speaking out louder every day.

I guess that was what motivated my grammatical bitch. Adam and Liz have louder voices than mine. Do all media.

Get loud. Every day. Trump's fascism is growing.

Agree.

But get a copy editor. Credibility hard to win easy to lose.

We are in a post-literate time, but good grammar and usage never go out of style. Have your new editor do hyphen edits.

This is not complicated, but hire a former journalist now doing gig work to clean up your posts.

True dat. And when faced with a choice, he always gets it wrong. See economics, trade, foreign policy ...

I think you can make a case that it's the great American novel.

Another chuckle. Lively fam. My compliments to Kenny. Still chuckling.

Good chuckle. Well said. Earns a follow.

I have as yet seen no specific reporting on specific cases of "waste, fraud and abuse". Always just the abstract charge amidst the war against the poor, persons of color and Dems in general.

Wake up, MSM. You're putting me to sleep with your not doing your freaking jobs.
November 15, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Yep. With nary a peep from the MSM.

Outrageous.

Hey, I'm a writer and a media guy. One of my first bosses told me "credibility is hard to win and easy to lose."

I add: "And even harder to win back."

Journalists: Do your jobs. There are fewer of you. I get it. But do your jobs.

I've been trying to forget about George Santos since I first heard his name.

And Trump pardoned this liar, grifter, criminal and pure fool?

Note to self: I wonder why Trump would pardon a liar, grifter, criminal and pure fool.

Oh, yeah. Trump's kind o' guy. Silly me.

although in Islamic countries, e.g. Morocco, where mortgages are unavailable or difficult to get, you see half-built houses all over because people have to save up. So as bad as they are in siphoning money from borrowers, without mortgages there is slower economic growth overall.
November 14, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Yes. It is a stupid idea. But you can make the same (lesser) case against the 30-year mortgage as I tried to tell my kids, who, of course, didn't listen.

Actually a full accounting of 30- and 50- year mortgage factors in inflation - you're paying the extra years with dollars with less buying power.

Well thought, well said
November 4, 2025 at 6:05 AM
No. Yes bs and stupid. But worse. It was lying propaganda that killed many people -- Vietnamese and Americans.
November 1, 2025 at 3:55 AM
yeah. me too. I just think we need a new Dem party image for the country. And I think that demands a new face at this point.

Walz is a leader. I wonder how he'd have done at the top of the ticket in 2024? Think about it: A positive plain-talking, witty guy and distance from Biden.

I'm afraid it won't work in '28 b/c of his association with Harris (and by extension, Biden). We need a new face at the top of the Dem ticket.
October 27, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Agree. I like Obama a great deal. Although ideologically I think he carried on the unfortunate Neo liberal Dem tradition, he's often said to be a "generational politician" and brilliant speaker. True dat.

Mamdani is cut from the same great political and rhetorical cloth. He will go far.
October 25, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Agree.

On a lesser aesthetic note:

Mar-a-ago-ing the White House. Paving over Jackie Kennedy's Rose Garden? Effing barbarians.

How does a Dem prez fix this? I suppose s/he cd jackhammer up the patio and replant the roses. Can s/he tear down Trump's garish "ballroom"?

Sigh.

The media isn't much good these days asking the first question much less the next question.

Why didn't/don't they ask for examples of "waste, fraud and abuse"? BTW, Elon and his DOGE boys missed massive real fraud at the VA.

Stop clutching your pearls, MSM. Ask hard questions. Report, reporters.

Way past time for Cuomo to ride into the sunset. He's well past his "use-by" date. Wave bye-bye, Andrew.

Where are we?

Some place like America?

Lady Liberty weeps.
