Another pair of socks for October: The pattern is But, First Socks in a hand-dyed merino DK. Knitted TAAT using magic loop. Getting the cast off loose enough reminded me why I hate toe-up sock knitting 🧶

One of the stranger commissions I have been given - a hat for a toy rabbit with a hole at the top for the ears. Freehanded in bakers twine with a 4.5mm hook 🧶🐰

Socks for August. Fruit Stripe Gum socks pattern in Stylecraft Head over Heels Walking in Nature: Stroll colourway. Think I would work out a way to carry the pattern into the foot if I did them again or use a plainer yarn. 🧶

Also saw the Hiroshige exhibition at the British Museum. Loved the works inspired by him at the end. These are my favourite Hiroshige piece and my favourite modern piece. (I annoyingly forgot to note the artist's name.

Saw #BornWithTeeth this afternoon. Ncuti Gatwa is as charismatic in the flesh as he is on screen. The chemistry between him and Edward Bluemel sizzles. 90 minutes flew by.

Also met this jaunty chap in The Lord Mayor's chapel in Bristol. Never managed to walk past when it was open before. Say hello to George Upton who died on his 55 birthday. He looks very chirpy despite this.

Saw Soft Power: Lives Yold Through Textile Art at the RWA today. Really good exhibition. This piece was the highlight for me.

Another pair of socks just sneaking into July. Garter Bars in a hand-dyed merino dk bought in That Crafty Stitch in Torquay 🧶

The Merry Wives of Windsor at The Globe this afternoon. Not normally one of my favourite plays but this production made it very entertaining. I even found myself liking Flastaff which is very much against the grain

I collect Angela Brazil novels and picked this up in Oxfam as the first few pages were very Brazil-like. Was very surprised when the main character time-travelled in chapter 3!

Socks for July: Easy Spiral Socks in King Cole Rebel: Rage. Really struggled to finish these. Did not care for the feel or the colour of the wool. They are supposed to be a gift but not sure I will send them. 🧶

Found this at my in-law's. Dates from 1934. Am sure it has aged like fine milk.
