4/ This is crucial, for various studies indicate that the severity of antidepressant withdrawal is considerably higher in long-term users. This failure may negatively impact antidepressant users with severe withdrawal symptoms who do not receive proper recognition and support for their condition.

3/ They largely ignore the fact that their effect size estimates are not transferable to real-world routine practice, where most people are taking antidepressants for more than 12 months.

2/ "...even in short-term trials, there is robust evidence of small to moderate withdrawal effects 1 week after discontinuation that do not fully resolve within 2 weeks. The authors found no evidence of large effects because the prior probability of severe withdrawal was low in this sample.
