Thank you Mary, and thank you all for the kind birthday wishes!

I’ll plug one of my other horror film monographs, the book I wrote about Ealing Studios’ ‘Dead of Night’. If you haven’t seen this film yet, please correct that deficiency at the earliest opportunity.
Leaving the cinema, our eyes acclimatise to the change in light.

Before we part ways, please share your latest horror writer wins, news, sales, promos or fellow #HorrorWritersChat books you love.

REMEMBER: You can self-promote ONLY if you’ve participated in the questions.

Thank you, Horror pals!

Film-wise: David Lynch - responsible for some of the most frightening scenes ever filmed, and yet according to some he never made a horror film.

Oh, I think it’s builder’s tea. Failing that, room temperature tap water, or possibly rain water.

So, my story would be ‘Nuggets’. My dream casting would be (the very much deceased) Wilfred Brambell. It’d receive an NC-17 rating in the States, and would not be passed by the BBFC in the UK on account of the prolonged and graphic content.

Jez, 60 (today!), I write ‘kitchen sink horror’ Cinema is my ‘meat and drink’. I’ve written plenty of nonfiction books and articles about it. The two films I’ll pick are 10 Rillington Place and Skinamarink.

I’ve been up for about an hour and I only just realised I’m wearing my jumper back to front. On the day I turn 60. And so begins the mazey descent into senescence.

I *never* body-shame, ever - unless somebody truly deserves it. Which is why I think Katie Hopkins looks like a hate pretzel.

Not bad for 60.

Purely in the interests of ‘balance’, are there any reported instances of elected Reform councils where things are going well? I mean objectively (obviously *they’ll* say it’s going well). All I read is one catastrophe after another. I’m not holding my breath.

‘BBC’ is written through me. I was raised on its content. I’ve defended it endlessly. What is indefensible though is its sclerotic approach to changing funding models. Politics aside, sociological shifts mean many already only think in terms of subscription when it comes to TV content.

The anatomy exhibits at Louis Tussaud’s Blackpool wax museum get a mention in Capture Spiral. You’ll learn in the book that I did not in fact get to see the exhibits, and why this is somehow worse.

My chisel cracks the seal open. Only then, did I understand the folly of my curiosity. His scrotum spread slowly across the vinyl-covered seat pad like pancake batter poured into a hot pan. It formed a low-viscosity magma of flesh possessing the characteristics of recent roadkill.

I knew you all were fine additions to our Collegiate. Here – an ancient scroll, on which a sentence has been carved, and you must finish it: “My chisel cracks the seal open. Only then, did I understand the folly of my curiosity.” Continue it as you see fit, my friends.

There is something, a terrible thing, that should be forever banished, lest it destroy all in its wake. And that thing is: ‘cliché’.
A moment; let me note this. The Primrose Collegiate appreciates your honesty and insight. Hm, an explosion? Yes, a seal is being pried open tonight. Now, listen carefully; what IS a Terrible Truth to you? What must be hidden from Humanity, lest it destroys us?
