Saw the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s very inventive Kiwiana rendition of The Nutcracker! Includes a summer Christmas at the bach; dancers dressed as chocolate fish, hokey pokey ice cream, lolly slices, pavlova, native flowers and birds; and a rat king that leads weasels, stoats and possums. Beautiful!

FYI. The working title for Predator: Badlands was Backpack. Every time I mentioned the project to my wife, she would start singing the backpack song from Dora the Explorer.😅

Another reason not to buy Dell laptops anymore - weak USB-C power adapter connections. These are way worse than the barrel connectors. All it takes is an accidental pull on the cord in the wrong direction and the whole thing is ruined. My kids have killed two of these things already.

Went to see Jaws on a spur of the moment decision. It’s actually one of the first movies I ever saw in the theater. Still holds up, and I came away realizing how great the characters and visual storytelling is. Just love the Quint and Hooper interactions. Thanks for the re-release.

So I’ve actually seen McGriddle pancakes being manufactured. Is this still a thing in the US? Are they still popular or dying off? And if you didn’t know, McDonald’s is popularly known as Macca’s down under.

Well, Ekim Burger is finally closing. We were regular customers when Mike was in his caravan at Lyall Bay Beach. We really only managed to visit the Cuba location a handful of times. The Ekim Sauce was the best thing ever on hot chips. RIP. #wellingtonnz#ekimburgerwww.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3606...

All this weather talk reminds me of the worst storm I ever experienced in Wellington - June 2013 when we lived in Lyall Bay and the rear window of my car was shattered. Inside I found glass, sand, water and seaweed.
