Got a very silly pic last night, and decided it had to be new avatar. No, I don't normally wear furry ears and Elton John shades, but the cig is pretty normal.

WTF?!?
#BREAKING: The Trump administration is asking #SCOTUS for an immediate “administrative” stay of a Rhode Island district judge’s order that is otherwise requiring it to resume the distribution of SNAP benefits from other funding sources no later than the end of today.

I completely understand the urge to not provoke the gestapo in this current environment, but "just take the physical assault" is also not acceptable. It HAS to be accompanied by reasonable leaders actually doing something to change it.

How much more of a "kitchen table" issue can you get than Trump stealing the food off of it?
I am losing my gd mind seeing the number of people on here who are so doompilled that they cannot imagine that telling millions of people, including tons of MAGAs, that they’re out of food money and they also can’t have health insurance anymore might have any effect whatsoever on anything
Since SNAP benefits are gone next month and the new ACA enrollment hikes also start to reveal themselves to consumers... it's wild to think that both programs are tilted towards states AND demographics that favored Trump in '24

Fill with oil and vinegar, combine this with a Salad Shooter™, and be the kitchen Rambo.
You guys, look at this thing. You just jam a whole stick of butter in there and it melts it and you can just spray hot liquid butter on whatever. The 80s really was the decade of insane kitchen appliances.

Its absolutely amazing just how incompetent this admin. is from top to bottom.
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

When you find yourself agreeing with the worst people...
Rand Paul: "When you kill someone, if you're not in a declared war, you really need to know someone's name at least. You have to accuse them of something. You have to present evidence. So all of these people have been blown up without any evidence of a crime."

So, holier than thou Mike is totes cool with shooting priests in the head from a rooftop. Interesting take there, Mikey.
Q: We've seen images out of Chicago of federal agents shooting faith leaders with pepper balls and arresting journalists. Where's the limit for you on what's acceptable conduct by federal agents?

MIKE JOHNSON: I've not seen them cross the line yet.
October 14, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Oh, give me a break. The whole ass point of SCOTUS is to "decided things." All this means is that once a dem is in office they will reconsider the whole "Trump is a very special boy" immunity bullshit.
Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."

I certainly hope these individuals are held in contempt.
This arrest appears to be in direct violation of a temporary restraining order prohibiting DHS officers from arresting journalists. The officers here may well be subject to contempt of court. protectdemocracy.org/wp-content/u...

Translation: don't ever trust lying Republicans because they won't do what they've agreed to anyway.
Q: Rescission are something Dems have said is a reason for a lack of trust. What rescissions are you discussing?

JOHNSON: We have more than $37t in debt. We're doing everything we can to get us back to sound fiscal responsibility. What does that include? A rescission package is part of our process

And if Thomas and Alito retire in the next three years, it'll only get worse. Next dem nominee absolutely has to include court reform into their platform. This is disastrous otherwise.
It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

Holy, fuck. This shit is so out of hand. I don't know when the public is going to reach the breaking point, but the more videos like this I see the more I worry that it's sooner than later.
CHICAGO — Outside an elementary school during dismissal… horrifying. What have we become?

This shit has to stop NOW.
Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Fuck YouTube and any of these other bullshit companies that are capitulating to this admin over frivolous lawsuits. This admin needs to be held fully accountable for its criminal actions and behavior.
BREAKING

YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle the lawsuit brought by President Trump against the company for suspending his account.

Most of the funds will go towards the fund the president setup for the White House ballroom.

This is the President explicitly threatening to withhold federal funds from New York City if voters elect a candidate he opposes.

This is an unlawful attempt to coerce voters through federal financial threats and a textbook example of voter intimidation to influence the outcome of a local election.

Neat article about how a modern postal service could function. As opposed to this country (US) where they keep trying to either privatize it, or simply smother it with a pillow. I feel like an approach like this could be hugely popular, and a great policy idea.
"In some places, French postal workers now pick up prescriptions, return library books, and deliver flowers. Last year, only twenty eight per cent of La Poste’s revenue came from sending mail."

Services can evolve in positive ways to meet new and growing needs.
For those who wonder what a modern postal service could look like, one example is in France, where letter carriers provide check-ins on the elderly for very affordable rates, while completing their routes.

I encourage everyone to read the whole thing
