Oh absolutely agreed. My main complaint with LLM as an answer now is that I don’t know the source, but for something like “what can I do with some orzo and breaded shrimp”, I kinda trust the aggregate more than the source?

For me, LLMs so far are the leap from pre-google to google. Idk if people remember but google was a *big deal* because suddenly you could find the thing you were looking for. We lost that, and LLMs have kind of brought it back

I’m paraphrasing, but I saw a quote recently along the lines of “Republicans worry about upsetting the Republican base. Democrats worry about upsetting the Republican base”. I’m sitting here in 2025 pleading with Democrats to worry about their own base.

Yes, this. I question the wisdom of attempting to appeal to or appease voters on the right in the hopes that they will turn out to vote for you in 2028. VP Harris tried that with Liz Cheney and it did not work.

I don't think it's asking too much for a leader in the democratic party right now to not platform Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon. I understand what he's trying to do. I just believe it can be done without normalizing abhorrent behavior.
