We have no shortage of solutions when it comes to the #ClimateCrisis & better city-building. We know what works, & what doesn’t. We know the difference between action & excuse. We have smart cities that inspire us.

We need leadership.

In Seattle City Council's city-wide Position 8, incumbent Alexis Mercedes Rinck defeated challenger Rachael Savage by a more than 4:1 margin. Savage won in only 8 of Seattle's 2038 precincts.

What actually needs to happen is a complete departure from the concept of LOS to modeling things like accessibility and safety.

Isn’t it a historic/protected structure?

I will accept this compromise. Golf in the middle of a city has to go though.

You forgot to convert that massive gold course blight into parks and dense residential/commercial TOD

I don’t think the sidewalk is actually 6 ft wide on most of the length
November 25, 2025 at 5:13 PM
There is a lot of bridge structure on both sides of the narrow sidewalk
November 25, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Indeed it seems like that’s the short sighted standard of building for T-20 years instead of T+20 years.
November 25, 2025 at 7:19 AM
IMHO the main challenge isn’t the bridge itself but how to handle both sides in a way that isn’t homicidal

Why is it a good idea for thousands of cars a day to cross it? Just because they do doesn’t mean they should or must.
November 25, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Ah yeah my vision was that there was one lane in each direction currently but I guess there are two. 😂 I only ever see it from the sidewalk. So yeah, we’re go for transit. Maybe we can put some trolley wires back on it too.
November 25, 2025 at 4:45 AM
Yeah I was just thinking, one lane for a semaphore-controlled bidirectional transit only lane and one lane for bidirectional bike lanes?

What Mayor McGinn missed was that the new bridge was right there all along…
November 25, 2025 at 4:37 AM
Anyone who says you’re going the wrong way seriously lacks any experience with trying to actually get somewhere over the bridge. It’s just compromises on top of shitty options.

I dunno. Politically I agree with you but practically it’s far simpler to close a thing than build a new one. It can be done within one administration close to overnight with the right willpower behind it.
