In Seattle City Council's city-wide Position 8, incumbent Alexis Mercedes Rinck defeated challenger Rachael Savage by a more than 4:1 margin. Savage won in only 8 of Seattle's 2038 precincts.

IMHO the main challenge isn’t the bridge itself but how to handle both sides in a way that isn’t homicidal

Why is it a good idea for thousands of cars a day to cross it? Just because they do doesn’t mean they should or must.

Ah yeah my vision was that there was one lane in each direction currently but I guess there are two. 😂 I only ever see it from the sidewalk. So yeah, we’re go for transit. Maybe we can put some trolley wires back on it too.

Yeah I was just thinking, one lane for a semaphore-controlled bidirectional transit only lane and one lane for bidirectional bike lanes?

Anyone who says you’re going the wrong way seriously lacks any experience with trying to actually get somewhere over the bridge. It’s just compromises on top of shitty options.

I dunno. Politically I agree with you but practically it’s far simpler to close a thing than build a new one. It can be done within one administration close to overnight with the right willpower behind it.
