EQUALITY Nurse wins harassment case By Sarah Ward A nurse who objected to sharing a female changing room with a transgender doctor has won a claim for harassment in her employment tribunal case against a health board - but other alle- gations of discrimination were dismissed. Sandie Peggie was suspended by NHS Fife after complaining about having to share a changing room with Dr Beth Upton at Victoria Hos- pital in Kirkcaldy in 2023. She was placed on special leave after Dr Upton, a transgender medic, made an allegation of bully- ing and harassment. Ms Peggie (inset) had lodged a claim against NHS Fife and Dr Upton, citing the Equal- ity Act 2010, including sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Yesterday, only the harassment claim was upheld.

A large wire cage full of Blåhaj a soft toys produced by IKEA that look like a cute blue & white shark. These toys have been widely adopted by the Trans / NB communities as a mascot. There are some attached to the ceiling of the store as well.

The main author Dhejne got so fed up she actively got involved in trying to counteract the misuse & deliberate misinterpretation of the study !
Lead author responds Cecilia Dhejne, the lead author of the "Swedish study", has called the widespread misrepresentation of her research "very frustrating." She has stated that she has "seen professors use my work to support ridiculous claims," and has personally tried to combat the spread of misinformation by "commenting on articles, speaking with journalists, and talking about this problem at conferences." She added in her TransAdvocate interview: The aim of trans medical interventions is to bring a trans person's body more in line with their gender identity, resulting in the measurable diminishment of their gender dysphoria. However trans people as a group also experience significant social oppression in the form of bullying, abuse, rape and hate crimes. Medical transition alone won't resolve the effects of crushing social oppression: social anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress. What we've found is that treatment models which ignore the effect of cultural oppression and outright hate aren't enough. We need to understand that our treatment models must be responsive to not only gender dysphoria, but the effects of anti-trans hate as well. That's what improved care means.

Skimming around the globes radio stations is quite entertaining !
I skimmed over to Canada, randomly hit St. John’s VOCM 590 AM on the tip & they got me…
To get stations outside UK you need to run a VPN for rights related issues.
