Asking this in a wide way, but are there any Illinois school librarians who follow me, who are members of AISLE, and who are interested in doing more work around book censorship and intellectual freedom? If SOOOO, send me a DM here.

this show is VERY GOOD and made me cry a lot
I never understand how these things happen, but as a point of information: Netflix is now carrying the 2022 AMC/BBC series THIS IS GOING TO HURT starring Ben Whishaw. It was not much seen in the U.S., I don’t think, but it is excellent.
'This Is Going to Hurt': An honest look at how doctors suffer in a punishing system
A new TV series, based on Adam Kay's 2017 memoir of the same name, depicts the unrelenting stress of a young doctor in the U.K.

I think I’m just not going to respond anymore to foolishness about how LLMs are a true substitute for thought. It’s an utter waste of time. People who commit to that idea will find out that it’s nonsense in time, and they aren’t going to listen until then.

This is real. Our govt is Tweeting like a 14 year old and calling Americans imbecilic morons. We worry about children being bullied but this is the example set by the U.S. GOVERNMENT. This is so shameful. I’m embarrassed for any of you that think this is okay or make excuses for it.

The city’s rationale for cutting the library’s budget makes absolutely no sense. We need Chicagoans to stand up and get loud about this.

These are *easy* and *vital* things. Let's save CPL's budget.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.
