💯 true of immigration journalists as well: who prioritizes access to key DHS sources in DC, vs. who’s on the ground interviewing migrants in Juarez. Those who make policy or those whose lives are decided by it. Few value the latter. Makes a massive difference in the moral vision of your coverage.
