If we're not going to change vehicles, there's an easy solution for this problem: Red lights for all vehicles when pedestrians have a Walk signal. They do this in London.
No vehicle should be moving through an intersection when pedestrians are crossing.

OMG this - vehicles moving through the area while pedestrians are still crossing! We have to ban all right-on-red turns. However, I live in Ontario so........

You can understand why they fired Bob Melvin, but the Giants need to take a hard look in the mirror. Yes, the season was disappointing, but don't forget they ranked 22nd in ESPN's preseason power rankings. Fangraphs projected them to finish under .500. Outside of SF, they didn't really disappoint.
