He claims to be a huge fan of Iain Banks’ Culture series, but since the Culture themselves are essentially space Communists I doubt he’s understood any of them. Also, Banks would have utterly despised him.

I can’t say I’m a huge expert on his music but his autobiographies (Head On/Repossessed) are absolutely essential reading.

Love that song but Sweetness always gets me. There’s something about that single chord piano motif thing that just lifts any song (QOTSA Go With the Flow, Gouge Away Maybe Blue, many such cases)

One of the worst gig experiences in my life was your man at the SECC (bought as a present for my wife). He spent a good five minutes berating the front page story in the Daily Star (which he brought on stage) about him punching a photographer the day before. Some rhythm section though.
