I cannot even begin to express my rage at this lie

reading this through me back into my pandemic EMT life, attempting to resuscitate a child experiencing a cardiac arrest secondary to COVID while a father says “we heard that the vaccine was riskier than COVID for kids” and a mother wails in agony
NEW: The F.D.A. announced in an internal memo that 10 children died "because of" the Covid shot. Other experts want to see proof.

“This is a profound revelation,” Dr. Prasad's memo said. “For the first time, the U.S. F.D.A. will acknowledge that Covid-19 vaccines have killed American children.”

A Google software engineer won his battle against MetLife to receive disability benefits for Long Covid.

This is huge

Long Covid has a lot of stigma attached to it and it can be hard to get disability.

You’re told to “try harder”.

It’s “not that bad”.

You can “still work”.

Not everyone can

Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

The "AI" and "automation" offered by some companies and platforms is just a front for digital sweatshops in poor countries.
The well-known complaints about AI are that it rips content without consent and needs tons of electricity.
But this article points out another issue: AI relies on badly paid data labellers from poor countries working in terrible conditions.

AI is a multi-billion dollar industry. It’s underpinned by an invisible and exploited workforce
Data labellers are the lifeblood of the AI industry. Yet they are often paid very low wages, work in unsafe environments and lack basic workplace protections.
