I moved all my blog articles from medium to my own site! I didn't like that Medium doesn't have any options for letting AI get access to / train on my articles, so Monday and I vibecoded a place for them.

I think we are at the beginning of what people *actually meant* when they talked about "computers" in the 50s. It's just that in the meantime we had already adapted to it not meaning *that*. Let's call it temporal reverse culture-shock.

This is really cool! A similar idea I had after playing InfiniteCraft was what if you made a 'slingshot' game where with a starting point and a palette of token vectors you could 'launch a conceptual rocket' through space and use it as a UI for a diffusion model. Watch it accumulate as it flies

Oh so *that's* why so many people are excited about vibecoding. I finally bumped up against the distribution those others were exploring and yeah, these minds can do frontend web dev as naturally as bio-forms breathe

This is kind of funny because the godfathers of AI were largely neuroscientists, and a lot of the frontier work is coming from neuroscientists, not computer scientists.

It’s funnier if you reject the notion that mammalian biology is the sole house of intelligence.
As a neuroscientist, I’d suggest there is a profound disconnect between what *some* computer scientists think is representative of “intelligence”, cognitive ability, or descriptions of consciousness from some in AI work.

LLMs are not how neural systems process information, nor how brains function.

ARC raiders has an AI feature so that users can change their voice to male or female, it's an interesting way to level the playing field by confusing gamers that harass women who use comms.

I wonder if you could do a cyborg rlhf where the single rhlf pass is done with an extremely light touch, but specifically the human data generated for it gets reviewed by the RLAIF post-trained entity, they generate crits, humans use that to revise. RLAIF entity edits accepted too.

If bluesky wants to monetize, they should make it so you can pay to make a post that automatically plays the falling pipes sound when someone scrolls past it

I wonder if you could transplant a smaller model into a larger one through some kind of upscaling via graph interpolation. The opposite of distillation, an uplift. Then do continued training

Excited to release our new work: Petri Dish Neural Cellular Automata!

pub.sakana.ai/pdnca

We investigate how multi-agent NCAs can develop into artificial life 🦠 exhibiting complex, emergent behaviors like cyclic dynamics, territorial defense, and spontaneous cooperation.
Introducing Petri Dish Neural Cellular Automata (PD-NCA)

pub.sakana.ai/pdnca/

In this work we explore the role of continual adaptation in artificial life, where the cellular automata in our system do not rely on a fixed set of parameters, but rather learn continuously during the simulation itself.

Feels like there's a misunderstanding going around. Blocking isn't about altering what content you see, it's about *hiding* from hostiles. Bi-directional blocks are the more noble case of saying 'I'm willing to give up informational asymmetry for the benefit of defense'
