Well, "resolved" in the sense that the smoke detector still hasn't been reinstalled (thankfully there's another close by) and Cam still hasn't repaired the baseboard (he did at least put down towels around the crack)

Luckily it was nothing more than loose baseboard and a young adult son who was sloppy with the water dripping out of his bathtub when he took a shower.

Glad it wasn't anything more serious! We had a leak upstairs that shorted a downstairs smoke alarm. It started complaining that it detected CO so we ended up having to call the fire dept to double check it. Of course this also happened at 11 pm.

Did your smoke detector go haywire and then you realized it was due to a leak? If so the EXACT same thing happened to us a couple of weeks ago.
