Journalism: digital issues (eg privacy, algorithms), climate, sustainability, nifty science, policy, outdoorsy things. Consumer Reports editor (but what I say isn't CR's fault).
Just because it's such a cool spot, here's more from Greenland's Summit Station. I'm not sure of the site's NSF funding status.

After climate research at Mauna Loa was cut, I looked up #Greenland's Summit Station, a climate science site famous for the drilling of a 3053m ice core from the late 1980s to the early 90s. Still funded by #NSF, at least for now. Whew. (Photo from a brief visit I got to make years ago.)

My brother-in-law, Judge Paul G. Feinman, of blessed memory, stood fearlessly for equal justice, compassion, and, well, honor. When he died much too young 2 years ago, his old courtroom was renamed in his memory. We're still grieving .... but this was kinda fun to see.

The folks at Anthropic are trying really, really hard not to have Claude go all Fatal Attraction Bing on them. It really won't even pretend to be sentient when I ask it to.

Here are some of its prewritten "let not go there" phrases.
