Throughout the period 2000-2023, only in 2015 and 2016 did the 50% with the lowest incomes exceed the share of the 1% with the highest incomes. In subsequent years, the 1% greatly exceeded their share. It is in this context of inequality that popular strikes are taking place 👇🏽

En todo el periodo 2000-2023, solo en los años 2015 y 2016 el 50% de menores ingresos supera la participación del 1% de mayores ingresos. En los años siguientes el 1% supera ampliamente su participación. Es en este contexto de desigualdad que se desarrollan los paros populares 👇🏽

En los dos últimos años que se dieron paros populares en Ecuador: 2019 y 2022, no se evidencia que el empleo registrado en el IESS haya sufrido alteraciones considerables
