Relaxing in the car. Not singing at church today. Don't know the material that the choir is singing. I still can't attend the Thursday night rehearsals due to 0500 work. I'll be busy with housework, errands, show prep and helping BF with his prostate MRI on Tuesday. Dealing with bills. Ouch!

I read this from Rilke's Book of Hours last night. The majority of my working life, I have worked in some kind of darkness. I'll probably be working in darkness until I retire, or get let go. It's scary now, in this nation, to be here, waiting for the next shoe to drop. 1 year before midterms.

This is my morning so far: going to the 7-11 nearest my workplace and the latte machine not working. Went to nearest Starbucks and had to deal with a badass line of people wanting to buy Hello Kitty merchandise. I did nab the last Hello Kitty cup. I'm wondering about the Starbucks at Valley Fair.

I finally finished decorating my Sacred Harp book. I was inspired to use a rose stamp for the bottom and I drew the roses on top. Now I have started to make this mine. I'm now ready for next week's memorial sing in Alameda.

Started decorating my new Sacred Harp book tonight. I'm hoping that I can find a rose bush stamp tomorrow at an art store in San Mateo. I'm hoping that I'll have my book decorated before my first anniversary of shapenote singing, which is next week in Alameda, CA.

Today is National Cat Day, and next week will be their 2 year adoptversity. Their names are Holly, Marleau and Willow. They are littermates.

Good morning! Surreal storm yesterday. I did my radio show last night. My relief couldn't make it. I put the Oldies on. BF may not like this, but I put the heat on. Colder weather is here. Not looking forward to that, especially when I'm working outdoors. Thermals, heavy coats & hand warmers.

Been doomscrolling a lot since the Orange One and his cronies took over. Yes, I'm pissed. But I also need some calm and sanity in my life these days. I've been reading several books and I'm starting on the Book of Hours. Mini vacation with BF this weekend. Just a overnight at Monterey Bay Area.

Another day at the dental school, where I'm finally will be getting my teeth cleaned. I went to In N Out for lunch, and my lunch was paid for. The truck in front of me had some keys laying on the step. I went and retrieved them and gave to the driver. Nice thing to do. We were stopped at drive in.

Taking a break from the depressing news cycle to listen to an ennagram video on YouTube and do some more embroidery work. Will be watching Jen Hatmaker this afternoon.

Testing out a new bracelet jig and it pretty much works, as long as I don't use my larger stamps on it. The phoenix birds didn't fit well. I'll probably make more bracelets today.

Spent the night at my BF'S, and I get to see this bit of beauty. So glad that he is closer to keeping his childhood home. Later on, I get to talk to my IRA advisor about my retirement, which is taking a hit with me working reduced hours due to a wound that is tender. Scared to think about this.

I started this artwork when the stories of Florida's government ordering cities to paint over their rainbow sidewalks. Many people did chalk the sidewalk next to the Pulse nightclub. But there are guards making sure that the sidewalk is clear of color. (1)

This morning, I walked from my BF'S over to the local bakery and got something for us to eat. Resting now before we run more errands, like donating a lot of non working radios to a thrift store.

My partner and I went to Monterey for dinner and stayed the night at a friend's. We left around 0900, before the throngs of cars leaving the car week. We were home an hour and half later.
