My family has actually been buying a roasted peking duck from the Asian grocery for the last few years and we do not miss the turkey in any way shape or form.
I made a tea smoked duck with my mom last year. It was excellent. That's the new tradition
it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).

I sometimes think the rise of social media has caused people to forget that there is a difference between a story and a good story (just saw someone post a longish story about a hookup and someone told them they should be an author and the poster agreed and like...nah?)
