I think Zohran is an early sign

a big part of the reaction to Trump 1 was “we need to go back to normal, we gotta nominate the most conventional people imaginable” which is how we got Biden

that comprehensively failed, and a lot more people are open to real alternatives this time around
i do think the kind of backlash we see to this administration is not gonna be like what we saw to trump 1

BREAKING: as Thomas Gürber, Swiss Deputy State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, spoke, two actionists — one of whom is my colleague @crimew.gay — walked on stage with a sign that said "no tech for genocide."

they chanted: "no tech for genocide / you are all complicit" and "free, free Palestine."

No tech for genocide protestors took the stage at the #AIForGood conference. “No Tech For Genocide: you are all complicit. Free, free, Palestine.” “The first AI powered genocide.”

I don’t really think that the hosts of the event were prepared for this, (which does surprise me).

combine the operating budgets of america’s ten biggest city PDs (new york, chicago, los angeles, houston, philadelphia, DC, las vegas, dallas, phoenix, and detroit)… and then double it. that puts you at $30B
ICE's average annual budget through FY 2029 is now going to be $27.6 billion, which makes it a higher-funded agency than the FBI, ATF, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

We are looking at a level of federal law enforcement in communities not seen in generations.

This country now has concentration camps.

Much like the regime has done and beta tested in places like Florida, they just don't use the verbiage 'concentration camp'. Then, they gaslight the shit out of anyone who calls it like it is, deny it, overtalk any media q's and move on.

Know that.

Just sit with this for a moment. Israel perpetrated what is certainly the largest single mass killing of trans people in history. And it's basically a footnote in an article in the NYT covered weeks after it happened.
Israel bombed an Evin, an Iranian prison that housed dissidents and political prisoners. They ended up destroying the trans wing and murdering over 100 trans people incarcerated there, many for simply being queer in Iran.

This is unspeakable evil.

People need to realize trans misogyny isn’t just blatant bigotry like “trans women aren’t women.” It’s also the refusal to extend empathy toward or desire to understand trans women’s perspectives which builds & curdles into hostility. And I’m seeing that kind more and more in leftist spaces.
To paraphrase a friend - the transmisogyny lately is rank - even in leftist space.

Iran arrests people purely for being LGBT. Israel bombed the prison as an act of "liberation", killing all trans inmates. What a grim world we live in
My god - Around *100* trans prisoners who were in Iran’s Evin prison are missing after the Israeli strike flattened their section of the prison. 100.

The current death toll is 79. The 100 trans people are presumed dead, which would more than double the death toll.

but there’s so much internalized racism among American elites that it’s not

Without exaggeration, the last 50+ years of biological research completely discredits every race science claim. It is the single biggest indicator of being a malicious dullard and a reactionary ideologue. The fact I’ve had to dedicate a single minute of my career to addressing it is absurd

it is wild how many non-trans people seem to be taking an issue with this extremely correct thread: transphobia was an extreme minority position that was isolated to fringe reactionary christian conservatives, but through "liberal" publications laundering bigoted talking points it became accepted
