That aunt or grandma who had to skip town after her husband disappeared, and the uncle who escaped a lynch mob after shooting someone showing up to his doorstep in hooded sheets are proof we didn’t just take shit lying down.

I believe their investment in rugged individualism is what they need to give up. Collectivism, as its counterpart, will rid them of the need to invest in white exceptionalism.

I love that for them. Their constituents will cease to depend on conservative narratives, and since politicians rely on the populace for power they will lose their ability to harm everyone.

I think they should keep doing it, and the right should continue cannibalizing itself. It will eventually weaken their grip on the public and something new can emerge.

I’m not a fan of his, “give him what he wants until everyone is so hurt it fucks them into voting for us,” strategy for several reasons. He’s absolutely not built for the moment but there’s not a scenario with a better outcome for the people.

I wouldn’t do a town hall. We would just have collective solution based think tanks so they can see an idea they helped generate, become a bill they can back and see get passed or blocked by opposition

Folks getting laid off, I’m trying to ramp up job fairs with private companies in the area, we are using state funds to fund credit union initiatives that create customer minded services (think, texts to inform you of low balance & small short term loans)

Price of eggs trash and groceries getting too expensive, I helped several communities establish direct connections to farmers and organize collective purchasing funds to be able to buy in bulk and split the costs.

I’d spend 0 political capital fighting what can not be achieved, but you’d always catch me resourcing my constituency, helping them amass more political power, fighting with them locally and statewide and connecting them to organizations
