To me, we might be trading some problems of AP for different problems of DC. In neither, however, are we solving the problems that we ought to. So more broadly, I do worry that efforts to counter AP to high-flying constituencies do so at a great disservices to big majorities of student populations.

Though you and original thread aren't tackling Dual Credit (DC) classes at the moment, DC classes happen to pose the greatest, fastest growing existential threat to College Board/AP in Illinois at the moment.

Yup. On the same page with you. And, like @annieabrams.bsky.social, I teach AP classes despite my own deeply held and publicly shared objections to their practices for reasons shared by you and others in the original thread and beyond.
