Proud Canadian. ‘Nuf said.
Yet another unsolicited election take. The divide between rural voters in the south and the rest of Canada is staggering. Not sure how to close this chasm.

Just made the 50 km round trip to Aberdeen with my wife and son to vote. That’s three Liberal votes. However, pretty sure the next nine people in line more than cancelled us out.

The best judges of human character are DOGS. I would like to invite PM Carney and PP to my house to meet my dogs. I guarantee they won’t even let PP out of his vehicle. Teeth will be bared. Meanwhile, Mr. Carney will have three new best friends.

A plea to the people of Saskatchewan. I think we can all see the polls pointing to a Liberal majority. You need to ask the question: is there value in having a Saskatchewan voice in the Liberal caucus? I don’t think sending a bunch of ineffectual Con MPs to sit in opposition is going to help us.

So my kid turned 18. He won’t be able to vote in this election because there appears to be only one candidate (Con) in our stupid rural Sask riding. Talk about disenfranchised.

Hey folks. We are all suffering from loss right now. Remember that 7 stages? I’m seeing two many folks stuck in the denial stage. Can we please hurry up and move to the anger stage?

Deep breaths my fellow Canadians. There is a silver lining here. The US was one of two countries that were blocking meaningful measures to address climate change. By handing leadership of the world to Canada/Europe, we might now see some action on that front.

Feeling really left out. The rest of Canada is fighting to elect the Liberals and I’m stuck here in Saskatchewan where my vote will be diluted 100 fold by conservative votes. Would really appreciate some talking points to employ when chatting with people.

One million dollars would solve all my problems with a ton left over. What possible need does someone have for a billion dollars? Or one hundred billion dollars? It’s nuts to think about people hoarding that much cash.

Not an economist but…. Would it not make sense for Canadians to ask their investment advisors to shift their portfolios to Canadian companies (or at least non-US companies)??? Would this not help spurr investment in Canada?

The conservatives are peddling a narrative that Canada is broken. This is simply not true. I can’t help but feel optimistic. Our economy is going to be better than ever. We are going to make our own products, our own scientific discoveries. We are going to come out of this stronger than ever!

I’m helping my grade 10 daughter with her math homework (standard deviations). I didn’t learn about this stuff until university. At the same time the US is shutting down the Dept of Education. Two countries going in very different directions.

Just installed Ubuntu on a really old MacBook. Seems snappy. Great way to bring an old laptop back from the dead. Best part - Google and Apple can’t be forced to give my data to the US government.

I love it when people post screen shots of the stock indices painted with red. I think it’s worth noting that while the TSX is dropping, it is outperforming the American indices fairly consistently. The tariffs appear to be disproportionately affecting the US.

Great quote I heard. If it has tires, testicles or a hard drive, you’re gonna have trouble.

March 8 BBQ. This is why the Americans will never take us. Yes, the chicken is Canadian.

Today’s word of the day is schadenfreude, pleasure derived from another person’s misfortune.

I’m hoping to see a lot more of this. TSX up Dow Jones down. Let’s go Canada!

We talk a lot about emotional support Canadians. I think we all need to reach out to an American (preferably in a red state) and get to know them. It’s a lot harder to dislike a friend than an anonymous stranger.

Reminder to Canadians. Visa and MasterCard are American. Maybe time to go back to debit cards and good old cash. Some retailers will knock off the 2-3% credit card surcharge if you pay cash or debit.

I read that Canada made an all-electric car prototype to show off our parts making prowess. The vehicle was never intended for sale. Why not? I want my 100% Canadian Project Aarow car!

It was never about Fentanyl. Tariff threats are about manipulating the markets for personal gain.

I would welcome some advice from the Ukrainian people regarding what supplies would be useful to have on hand if things go badly for Canada. Extra cash, gasoline, medications??? I saw a post about saving old tires but don’t understand their use. A list would be helpful.

I’m so happy to see Canadians supporting our businesses. Now it’s time for the businesses to make sure they offer a Canadian option for Shipping. I want to be able to ship with Canada Post. UPS and FedEX are American (and not great IMHO).

Just unsubscribed from the Harvard Medical School mailing list. They email every day about courses being offered. You guys aren’t getting any of my dollars!
