When I've done it before, I sliced the top off the garlic and roasted it standing up. Spooned out the clove meat at the end. Still fussy, but not too messy.

So weird how the algorithm churns. I never see Alton's stuff, though I definitely watched his channel on YT for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if I explicitly blocked his channel. if there's anything the age of GenAI is teaching me, it's that these systems require a "firm hand."

oof. if it makes you feel any better - we had a good size patch in our backyard, and I went back to where it was last night and didn't see any. the leaves are gone. so you'd have to have already flagged the vines or stems.
