This is a mindset that doesn't believe in America and views the country as a feeble nation whose meager riches need to be hoarded by an elite rather than a robust state that inculcates civic participation and obligation. It's the mindset of failsons and con artists and real patriots should reject it
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Shout out to Philly's Repo Records, who played RIDE'S "Leave Them All Behind" while I was there on Monday. On top of having good taste, it is a lovely store.

It was an honor to review & blurb the legendary Alice Gerrard's new memoir, out now w/ @uncpress.bsky.social!

I was trying to work in a mention of how she taught her dog to grab her a beer from the fridge (as just one example of her legendary status) but I couldn't quite make it work

Maybe I’m just depressed (I am) but surely there has to be a middle ground between “no one talks about anything they like, only politics” and “people talk about culture regularly but describe something they think is overrated like it killed their family”

Gender-affirming care saves lives
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Do I know anyone at like WIRED or some other venue that would be interested in a pitch for this?
With 2026 around the corner, I wanna pitch a like 3-5k word feature on the Telecom Act of 96 and what's happened to music and media in the 30 years since then, that's also kinda filtered thru my experience as a music writer who is also class of 96.
