3 cans of black and a can of clear coat. A little imperfect up close but it will look like a million bucks on stage. I will ultimately knock the gloss down a bit with some wet sanding before putting a coat of wax on it. It’ll look primo. Still need to do the end blocks and swell pedal.

This recent acquisition, a 1955 Hammond B3, was really marginal and I nearly recycled it. But the veneer was good even thought the finish was mostly missing. So I sprayed it with black lacquer.

I have a solar panel in the windshield of our backup car at the shop so that it will start when it’s needed and the battery won’t be drained by the dash cam. Someone thought it would be cute to blackout the solar panel with duct tape.

This 1955 B3 was a basket case but I could not stand to recycle it because despite being very broken and missing half its screws, the veneer is in good shape. Now fixed. Plays like new, needs a paint job

This synth is fantastic because it uses the most basic, off the shelf components. It will not be hard to fix. The oscillators are the ubiquitous 555 timer IC. The envelope generators are the venerated CA3080 OTA chip. All of the other chips are standard 4000 CMOS logic chips.

This is a real thing that exists. It does not work. Let’s see if we can change that.

Once an arc happens, the formerly insulating plastic or ceramic bits become conductive carbon and the amp will ruin tubes and blow fuses until the socket is replaced.

#protip: If your tube amp is getting this grungy, it’s due for service. It’s probably working fine, as this one is, but the buildup of dust can cause arcing between pins of the tubes which ruins the tube socket. In a point-to-point wired amp, that’s basically a total teardown and remodel.
