My dad was a footballer and referee, member of a darts team, played snooker, always watched the rugby. I know very well that I was a disappointment to him in that regard even though he never said so. He's dead now so it doesn't matter.

Rinse, slice. Splash of olive oil and knob of butter in a pan (oil stops butter from burning). Fry for 1 minute, keep stirring. Splash of balsamic vinegar or soy sauce, flat teaspoon of garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Fry for 1 minute more, keep stirring. Serve on mash, or with roasted veg.
