Yeah I mean ... it makes me laugh. The EU wants to reopen the UK generally, and London specifically, to their students and workers, and deal with MFF shortfalls. Any genuine improvement for the UK will face that ask.

If you think you can win that argument, go ahead. But don't pretend thats not it.

€10m. Yeah. At some point, Brussels might realise that listening to Paris regarding the UK is not actually helping any one, least of all Ukraine.

I listened to the speech Šefčovič was supposed to give at the UK-EU PPA opening.

To say it came across as hectoring & defensive would be an understatement. If i hear 'timely' and 'in full' one more time ...

Oh and 'UK adhesion to Erasmus+ cannot only be considered through a financial lens'?

I dont think a pay to play model concerns people. That makes sense. It is, affer all, the EUs market. However the attempt to refashion what was agreed in May - specific payments for specific programme participation - into a general structural funds contribution was obviously ridiculous.

And can we also agree ... he cannot write to save his life. I read his book. I swear he used the same sentence every three paragraphs. It was trash. Racist, misogynistic, but really just so badly written you wouldn't believe.

And happily living under a constitution that includes Sharia and carrying an ID card. But then you must show your patriotism by ... paying less income tax.

We're now at "black people aren't British". Open sewer racism. Look forward to seeing him on QT again soon.

Interesting numerical exercise but ultimately immaterial. We're never joining under the current accession terms; Starmer is right to improve things where it is mutually beneficial but not moving on the red lines.

I mean, yeah great, our government agrees that 1+1=2

But honestly it doesn't matter. Nothing is going to change regarding the UK's constitutional setup vis-a-vis the continent of Europe. With but not part as Churchill noted.

"Pro Brexit"?

No, just the status quo. The UK is with Europe, but not of it, just as Churchill rightly stated in 1948. Labour is committed to working with the EU pragmatically and in mutual interest.

Also, how far are we into your 18 months to IMF bailout timeline of the UK? I never forget.
