I have a research idea on this. Curious what happens in an experimental setting when you make explicit to people that health influencers make money from all of their recommendations and it's not just they are trying to help people. People may know this but making explicit how much money is at stake

The U.S. public, on average, has low levels of support for political violence—across both political parties. Highly salient events like Charlie Kirk’s passing can often lead us to overestimate how much support for political violence exists. Events like this are chilling given their rarity.

National Guard members in DC don't seem to be doing much.
According to residents, groups of bored soldiers appear to wander aimlessly around the city like tourists, taking selfies at national monuments and enjoying local dining.

And I’m just here to say that it’s actually a good thing if people who hurt others are ashamed of what they have done.

In intro US Politics class, students had a difficult time differentiating coercive federalism (national gov punishing or rewarding states to act a certain way for national interest) vs. executive powers that POTUS doesn’t have. They thought sending national guard to Chicago was coercive fed.

This story is wild. The water in Bloomington, Indiana hasn't been consistently fluoridated since 2020, but the public wasn't notified. Even the Mayor didn't know. It only became public knowledge when IU chemist Dr. Katherine Edmonds* read a footnote in a report.

Administrative burdens are political tools. The Trump Administration is using burden to make services and benefits less accessible. All while claiming the opposite.
