I'm going to reproduce a saucy thread I did some years ago in the other place. It is divisive and produces many odd statements and flushes out parochial opinions. 🧵 (1 of many)

This was a fantastic read and I’m eagerly awaiting the conclusion.
Love this! I used to go to movies at the heights when I was a kid, I think they had discount Thursdays or something. I’m glad to see its legacy live on!
BIG NEWS! We are excited to welcome the HEIGHTS THEATER to the Music Box family!
In January 2026, we will be taking over ownership of the iconic Columbia Heights cinema. We're excited to add to the legacy of the Heights, and bringing a touch of the Music Box to Minnesota🎞️

Since I finally have a job and decent health insurance, I felt comfortable going back to CrossFit again. My first snatches in about 8 months! Not the best form or heaviest load, but I’m very happy to be back.

I'm struck by how many Chicagoans have seemingly felt compelled to write and share reflections on "this is what it feels like in Chicago right now". We know we're going through something awful together and we want the world to understand it.
Threading several of these pieces below.

It’s hard to believe but there was a cartoon about an immigrant mouse and it was seen as totally fine and not controversial and not woke because it was an aspirational and nice thing about America that people could come here and find a better life

After six hours in the airport they cancelled my flight. So I get one night in NYC on the work card. Jumping on a citi bike and crashing a friends Halloween party! I may not have a costume, but I don’t even care at this point.

So every time I’ve drunkenly got a tattoo, I usually wake up in the morning and laugh… Because it’s a tattoo of a cow, or Mr DNA from Jurassic park. You don’t really forget to investigate what you have just permanently marked on your body. For 20 years.

Well this thread had me crying alone at a restaurant while on a work trip. I think starting a new job and having to _come out_ so many times in the last week has me feeling emotionally exhausted.
Was putting my face on and missed a call from my dad. Saw this text and called him back. (This is a nice story. Also his name is not Bob. That’s what the grandkids call him. Long and unrelated story.)

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

I had to go clothes shopping today for the first time in ages because I haven’t had to go into an office where I can’t just wear a hoodie in, probably 10 years. Turns out I still hate shopping.
