This is a bluff. If the very corrupt FIFA does this, they'll cause many fans to cancel or be unable to attend the matches in those newly appointed cities. They would lose money and fail to generate much revenue from hotel accommodations in those cities. It’s a lose-lose situation. Infantino is vile.

I cannot talk about Chile, but I can talk about Mexico. This is another example of the effectiveness of propaganda. In Mexico, we are indeed a murder hotspot (look at the official numbers), but the federal government excels at using propaganda to mitigate the damage in public perception.
