'Poutine' is the French spelling of Mad Vlad's name. I regularly see it on French media. If they spelled it 'Putin' it would sound like 'putain', which is pretty much the equivalent of 'FUCK', or 'whore'. Always makes me chuckle. Somehow I don't feel hungry when I see mention of the Québécois dish

'Leccy cars are fine for pootling about town, as long as you have a driveway. Why aren't they investing in hydrogen power? (Well, I know, the 'big oil' bastards hate it). They can sell their oil and gas to make electricity for Teslas etc. Hydrogen works, and it's cleaner overall.

An electric car would be no use to me. A) I need range for my long drives to SW Andalusia and Portugal, without four hour stops for the occasional plug-in queue. And B) living in an upper storey flat 100m from the nearest parking space... I'd be permanently terrified of a flat battery.

I'm not so sure what about Vance, I mean he is on record as denouncing Trump as a fascist. I think JD is just an opportunist wanker who saw a short cut to potential power by brown-nosing the orange lunatic. Just a simple Washington grifter, and not very bright.

So are Christmas and Easter. The American turkey thing is very recent, so has no significant historical status, but the timing of Xmas and Easter relate directly to pre-christian observances. Those early jesus priests were very good marketeers.
