I think this is the most northern classical fortification in the world & the only star fort north of the Arctic Circle. Vardøhus Fortress, Norway, is over 260 miles above the Arctic Circle. Built in 1738, this remotest of outposts was actually occupied by Germany during WWII. #FortressEarth

North Korea has a "longevity institute" that's tasked with keeping the Kim's healthy & extending their lives.
Apparently there are 3 R&D branches and I came across alleged locations for them. Two seem quite plausible but I have doubts about one - least of all because it was demolished back in 2021

Here's an interesting fortress south of Jingyuan, Gansu, China. It has been eroded in half by the Zu Li River. From the north gate to the south, the fort was at least 600 meters long. @ 36.237248° 104.872505°

Based solely on visual signatures (corner towers and perimeter wall), this small compound at a coal mine in Pongchon looks very similar to known forced labor camps at other coal mines in the region (Kaechon for example). Built in 2014. 39.794805° 125.991769°
