this is such a good idea. current crop feels hesitant about troubleshooting in a way I previously only associated with tech-averse seniors, it's been so jarring to encounter when I'm not even 20 years older than these kids

the computer skills one is so necessary, my students don't know the basic file structure of their computers and many did not even receive typing instruction as kids. when I ask they express frustration about not being taught and overwhelmed at figuring out resources on their own

Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

I think it's more that they had the good sense to keep it behind closed doors rather than get the rest of us involved

this lady had funeral homes calling her victim to plan her own and loved ones' funerals and people showing up to her house for tours like it was for sale on top of phone, letter, and email harassment! I can't even imagine what that would feel like but I know I'd probably do anything to make it stop
