FYI: Also at this arraignment, but in the overflow room, which appears…livelier.

Asked to turnover his passport, Brian Straw’s lawyer notes Straw’s participation in Broadview protests was partly to oppose revoking “papers” from immigrants.

The judge says she won’t require it, and the room applauds

Actually, hypothetically… *could* they call Pope Leo as a witness?

I doubt he’d come, of course, but he’s still a U.S. citizen, and registered to vote in Illinois (albeit in a county *next to* the one where the Broadview facility resides). religionnews.com/2025/05/09/c...

How the court visit to Broadview and other discovery goes will affect that injunction hearing.

He also raises concerns over clergy access to the facility.

"I heard in the paper that even the pope got involved here," Gettleman says, noting they won't call the pope as a witness.

The guy was a preacher!
Yes. There’s a lot to say about the series on Garfield. Other historians can jump in to add what they noticed. I was surprised it overlooked his background as an ordained minister in the Disciples of Christ.

Wait, so the “walk of fame” is just…the presidents?

Why…call that a walk of fame?
Trump: Take a look at this if you want to see detail. Most people do a sign and paint it on the wall. So that's half inch thick bronze. Carved. By a very talented person. And it's brass. It's pure brass.
