You really need to put Look Outside in these polls.
It is absolutely worthy of being on there.

105. Smiling Friends season 3 (7/10)

Had higher highs in terms of jokes this season, but the quantity of lulls where jokes are happening but aren't funny exceeds the last seasons.
I really like the different animation styles this season. Halloween and Squim episode were my favorites.

104. Shadow of the Colossus (replay)

Loaded up for a quick playthrough. It's a game I was truly enamored with when I was a kid and I still view it pretty highly, but my enjoyment of it as a game has definitely weaned over the years.
As a game and for the vibes, I think I like ICO more now.

103. Rayman Raving Rabbids (6/10)

I do have a soft spot for this game due to growing up with it. It was the first Wii game I owned. Switches between sensory overload and monotonous. Rail shooting segments are pretty fun. The most I get out of this game is the really cool Rayman 4 assets

102. Metroid: Other M (1/10)

One of the most boring action games I've ever played. The fact it wears Super Metroid as a skin for most of it's bullshit is the most insulting part of it. I actually have extreme difficulty thinking of a single thing I liked about it when I played it.

They've been fucking awful at it up to this point, why give them the benefit of the doubt on anything?

And while we're assigning stupid genres to games. Dispatch is a Digital Pictures FMV adventure game. People weren't arguing about this, I just think it's funny to point out.

It is one of the weaker examples of ArtePiazza's output from back when they largely supported productions, but the other studio that was put on it was Matrix Software who would go on to butcher the Erdrick trilogy on mobile.

101. Kirby Air Riders (10/10)

Outside of City Trial being the best multiplayer experience ever. The added single player mode as well as the racing modes make this the most tightly packed and COMPLETE Sakurai project since Kid Icarus Uprising. One of the most heartfelt of his projects too

Overall, I am positive with the games. They give me a very different Metroid experience that I appreciate less, but the games themselves were still a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to what Prime 4 has in store for me, but for now, Kirby Air Riders came out, so I'm gonna play City Trial till I vomit

A powerup in a Metroid game is supposed to give you a sense of intrigue followed by a realization of what it opens up. Like finding the ice beam in Norfair and thinking back to the vertical shaft with no platforms and just enemies.
The Prime trilogy still has these moments, but they're rare

Progression is also an annoyance. Too many times playing each game, you're presented with a powerup, and then what the game expects you to do, is drop everything you're doing in the current area, and go back without natural guidance from the level design.

The biggest problem I have with this trilogy is how long it takes to get around. I don't think the movement in the Prime games is bad, but when you're going from the 2D Metroid where the platforming is one of the best parts of the game, Samus' slow ass walk in the Prime games makes me tap my foot

The issues I have with the games stem from how they make me feel as opposed to 2D Metroid. I still hate scanning, and how it's integrated into context sensitive actions in the first two games. I think by the end that the levels themselves were mostly good, I just hated the lack of interconnectivity
