Poem

Studies show we make decisions
before we're conscious
of having made a decision.
We think we reason up to choice,
but really we reason backwards,
justifying the fait accompli.
What if our reasoning though
is for some upcoming choice.
Always reasoning, never knowing
what for? Morality making.

Dreamed I was stranded at a boating public park on a sunny warm day. I was on the phone trying to get the car to come back for me, but it was difficult to be too upset.

I submitted 2 batches of poems to 8 journals. I paid $3 each to 2 of those journals. The rest were free.
I've submitted one batch to 4 journals. I have a second batch. I guess I'll need 4 more journals.
I'm looking over litmags open for poetry submissions, but now that I've finished my coffee I believe I'll go walk the dog and hum these John Prine songs I've been listening to.

I am thankful for a day off. The whole household is off today!

Our thankfulness wall! Every year we tape paper to the stairway wall and wrote 100 things we are thankful for.

Stately, plump Charlie Brown came from the stairhead, bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay crossed.
Faster Charlie Brown! Kill! Kill!
In space no one can hear you scream, Charlie Brown.
