The front yard and side woods are absolutely teeming with birds right now. Blue jays, Cardinals, Juncos, Northern Flickers and a Pileated Woodpecker.

Three years ago, we fulfilled a 40 year dream of owning our own house, and we were able to build new. Today, my husband’s dream of a garage started coming to fruition. This is after one day’s work.

Our daughter has a pet opossum. His momma got ran over and Oscar was the only one to survive. He’s the cutest little fella! Didn’t get a pic of me holding him, but the hubs gladly posed for one. This was taken in September. Need a more recent pic of the spoiled guy.

I waited a long time to be able to have a view like this out my kitchen window. Took us 40 years, but we built a house almost four years ago. For the nearly 30 years prior to that, we lived in two different mobile homes with shitty views.
So thankful for everything we’ve achieved.

Curled up on the couch with one of the pups, basking in the glow of the Christmas lights on the tree and watching Rudolph. It’s nice to feel nostalgic and capture a tiny bit of the joy and wonder I felt as a kid.
