November 27: Sloan - Smeared (1992)

I've been re-obsessed with "Underwhelmed" and "500 Up" this year; when better to belatedly check out the album they're from? Confirms that if I'd been able to buy this at the same time as Twice Removed, it also would have had a chokehold on my teen years.

November 26: These New Puritans - Inside the Rose (2019)

In one sense, the first of theirs that's really surprised me; I think I assumed it'd be more like the first two. Not a complaint, and my sense that all their LPs have a lot of unplumbed depths after one listen continues to deepen.

This interview with Any Lucia Belloza is heartbreaking but everyone should read it. These are the lives our country is destroying.

November 25: These New Puritans - Field of Reeds (2013)

I knew this change in sound was coming; heck, reading about it back in 2013 is part of what convinced me I should get around to checking this band out. I was still a bit thrown off at first, but this one really grew on me as it went.

November 24: Ethel Cain - Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You (2025)

Gotta love an album where the "Interlude" is 7+ minutes, right? This is fantastic as her other two LPs I've played, even if I find all of their lengths challenging. Perverts might still be my favourite though.

November 23: Jens Lekman - Songs for Other People's Weddings (2025)

I am never letting go of my copy of Oh You're So Silent Jens, but 80 minutes of song-length songs is a lot from anyone for me these days. There may well be some more gems in here, not sure how much time I'll spend digging though.

November 22: Some Images of Paradise - i expect the same of u (2025)

Really not sure how to describe this one (check out the stew of genre tags on Bandcamp, it's a start) but I did really enjoy it.

yes, i do it with the showerhead in my hand so i can easily check how warm it is without it hitting me until it's ready (old building, bad plumbing, temperamental and needs to be adjusted a lot - would be annoying to do it from outside)

i've only listened to the first two so far! i kind of want to do them in order, but i was looking for something to listen to so Field of Reeds it is
