I've been wanting to know when the 'Bitcoin Friendly City' report from staff would be presented. It was supposed to happed in the Fall. Now, staff say: "the motion has been deferred until further notice while staff focus their work on other Council priorities."

Alida Oegema Thomas, a co-chair, with the women’s advisory committee, said she was disappointed, but not surprised.

“We’ve seen this council almost actively undermine this process,” she said.

“They don’t have a great track record of really uplifting community perspective.”

Being wet, cold, stressed and not having anywhere warm, clean and dry to rest means when people in Vancouver's DTES get an infection it can be incredibly difficult to recover, even with the help of antibiotics.

The decision came after council heard from 100’s of speakers, mostly in opposition. Asked about the turnout, Sim called it a rigorous process. “And yes, when people come to the chamber, we will listen to their comments & wherever we feel that something makes a lot of sense we will incorporate it.”
