👩‍🏫We also shared and discussed our findings with teachers. Focusing on their implications in terms of using digital media as educational tools, supporting the acquisition of digital competence, while being mindful of passive use.

What does this mean?
✅ It's hard to separate direct screen effects from reduced access to other activities or socioeconomic challenges.
✅ But interaction and passive viewing differ, and that matters.

Our findings:
📌 Passive exposure can affect brain areas for vision & language, but effects are strongly moderated by socioeconomic status and/or parental education.
📌 Interactive use does not impact cognition & brain activity compared to passive viewing
