Amazon has renamed its satellite internet program from Project Kuiper to Amazon Leo, as the company continues building a low Earth orbit network intended to bring high-speed connectivity to underserved regions. There are now over 150 Amazon Leo satellites in orbit and the company is preparing customer hardware that supports gigabit speeds across Apple Home, Google Home, and other platforms.

Some big news is here for Apple TV subscribers and especially Major League Soccer fans. MLS and Apple announced on Thursday that starting in 2026, every MLS match will be included with a standard Apple TV subscription, with no extra MLS Season Pass required. The separate Season Pass offering will end after the 2025 season. Beginning next year, Apple TV subscribers will be able to watch all regular-season games, the Leagues Cup, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, and the full MLS Cup Playoffs in more than 100 regions.

Apple today announced the App Store Mini Apps Partner Program, a new initiative that allows developers hosting mini apps or games inside their larger apps to qualify for a reduced App Store commission rate of 15%. “Today, we’re introducing the Mini Apps Partner Program, which expands on the App Store’s ongoing support for apps that offer mini apps. Mini apps are self-contained experiences that are built using web technologies like HTML5 and JavaScript,” Apple said in its announcement.

Netflix has released an updated list of its top 10 most popular movies of all time, based on global view counts during each film’s first 91 days on the service. The rankings show a mix of action hits, big-name thrillers, and newer originals that climbed quickly with huge audiences. A “view” on Netflix counts when someone watches at least two minutes of a movie, showing how many accounts started it.

TikTok is introducing bulletin board, a new in-app channel that lets creators send direct updates to their followers in a more organized way. Instead of relying on regular posts or livestreams, creators can use a bulletin board to share quick announcements, news, or exclusive content that appears in a dedicated space their fans can join. Once someone subscribes to a creator’s bulletin board, they’ll get inbox notifications whenever a new update is posted, and they can react with emojis.

Apple has reportedly reached a major agreement with Tencent that will see the iPhone maker take a 15% commission on mini game and app purchases made in WeChat, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The deal, which has been in the works for more than a year, marks a turning point in Apple’s relationship with Tencent, one of China’s biggest tech companies.

Tesla vehicles run their own operating system and in order to have Apple CarPlay support, you need to use an Android hack on a Raspberry Pi workaround. But according to Bloomberg's scoop this morning, Tesla is reportedly working on bringing Apple CarPlay to its vehicles and has been testing the feature privately, says unnamed people familiar with the project. This would bring the first third-party support to Tesla vehicles.

Nomad has introduced the Tracking Card Pro, a slim wallet tracker that works with Apple’s Find My app. The device, priced at $69 CAD, is designed to look and feel like a metal credit card and helps users locate their wallets instantly through their iPhone. Unlike bulky trackers, the Tracking Card Pro is just 2.5mm thick—about a third the size of an AirTag—so it fits in any wallet without adding bulk.

Toronto-based fintech Wealthsimple is partnering with Wise to make sending money abroad easier and more affordable for Canadians. Some Wealthsimple users noticed the integration earlier this year, but as of today it's official and available for everyone. Starting today, Wealthsimple chequing and joint chequing account holders can send money to 30 countries in more than 10 currencies directly from the Wealthsimple app or website.

Apple has officially announced its 2025 holiday return policy—a detail that wasn’t listed yesterday when we checked—giving shoppers extra time to return gifts bought during the busy season. Telus has started construction on a new Telus Living project in Vancouver’s affluent Point Grey neighbourhood, transforming its former telephone exchange site at 2608 Tolmie Street into a six-storey mixed-use building. The development will include 55 rental homes and four ground-floor retail spaces, part of the company’s ongoing plan to repurpose older properties into new housing. The project, built in partnership with LPI Management Ltd., joins other Telus Living developments already underway in Nanaimo and Sechelt, which are expected to deliver a combined 254 homes in early 2026.

Apple has launched a new Digital ID feature for Apple Wallet, allowing users in the U.S. to create a digital identification card using their U.S. passport. The feature is rolling out in beta and will first work at TSA checkpoints in more than 250 airports across the country for domestic travel. Digital ID acts as an alternative for those without a REAL ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID.
