Every time you see that the government is trying to raise our military spending to 5% of GDP, think about the fact that our total elementary and secondary school spending is 3.9% of GDP.

Buddy you go 26% of the vote on 39% turnout. This is not a mandate to build less housing.
Calgarians clearly rejected blanket rezoning. I work for Calgarians, plain and simple -- not politicians or bureaucrats in Ottawa or Edmonton. I'm pushing for a made-in-Calgary housing solution that reflects our city’s needs, respects communities, and delivers more homes people can afford. #yyccc

The UCP know perfectly well that a pipeline is not a sure thing, but killing climate policies and ensuring the industrial carbon price doesn't rise to promised levels is a win for Smith. They'll do what they can to get an even lower price in the negotiation, too, and Carney will give it to them.

Seems shockingly naive to think Carney is not simply being a pal to oil and gas interests. He's been dismantling climate policy since the moment he became leader.

Also, this doesn't sound like this is the clever win Max et al claim. The UCP got exactly what they wanted.

Just saw Elon's "no civilization can recover from low birth rates, that's what caused the fall of Rome" tweet from last week

Incredible to ignore the western empire being addicted to civil wars and shitty economic mgmt towards the end to instead land on "If only the Romans loved fucking"

Getting blocked by telling Grits that Carney is not playing 4d chess, he’s just pro pipeline

This is like the conservatives in 2018 who believed the TMX nationalization was Liberal plot to kill the project.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Remember when people thought he wasn't good at politics? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/27/o...

I admire people’s confidence saying that this pipeline won’t get built, but looking at the history of TMX, federal intervention there was key to its completion.
November 27, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Please Mr Carney, trains are pipelines for people. Why can’t Alberta have that?

A student admitted to grad school at UNB is stranded in Gaza because the Canadian government won't issue a study permit without biometrics that in turn cannot be produced without a travel visa to leave Gaza.

The Canadian government needs to issue the permit and UNB needs to intervene.

When a pedestrian is not paying attention and walks into something, no one dies. When a driver is not paying attention and drives into something people are often injured/killed. How long will it fucking take for society to STOP EQUATING THE TWO?
Cllr Atkinson asks about educating public re: pedestrian injuries/deaths. Deputy Chief O'Brien says peds + drivers both need education. People are being hit in crosswalks + jaywalking. Drivers not paying attention. "We’re trying to target everybody because it is a shared responsibility." #yyccc

Imagine if the city doesn’t repair the Old Y and we get a police station instead where the cops pick what community orgs are allowed to be there
Farkas asks what downtown police station would look like. Police say they are keen to sketch that out collaboratively. Farkas says it would be less of a precinct, more of a community hub with amenities like those that were at Old Y. More preventative in nature. #yyccc
